Life Update

 Hey lovelies!!

I know that I have been quite absent from this little space lately, although this is only intended on being a hobby of mine - and that it is, I love planning, taking images for posts and then doing the relevant typing to go along with it, for me I find that it's just such a great way to sit back from everyday life, and write about what I really do love, I am sorry about my lack of activity, but I suppose that everyone needs a break sometimes and to be honest my life has had a couple of changes, I just thought that I'd write about it to get you up to scratch.

I got myself a new job, it's nothing massive or crazy, just as a waitress at a hotel restaurant, and so far I am genuinely loving every moment, but it's just amazing how changing from day time work, to then doing both mornings and evenings affects you.  I've been feeling so tired from it, coming home in the evenings feeling as though I need to eat the house out (not too sure whether I should really admit to that..) but I'm sure that its just a matter of time before it just becomes routine for me.  Its tiring being either out of routine, or getting used to a new one.  On top of that I'm currently very close to being able to take on a driving theory test along with the actual driving driving test, so I've been going out in my own car as much as possible with my mum to grab myself as much practice as I can, as well as revising lots both online and via the official interactive DVD.

So when I've had time to myself to simply chill, I've just been enjoying it, meeting up with friends, days out in town shopping, having DVD nights snuggling up on the sofa underneath a blanket with my leopard print onesie on, and going for walks, just normal everyday stuff really, in fact I took images using my mobile phone, of one of the beach walks that I went on the other week, which you can see below.  It was absolutely beautiful.

Have you been up to anything lately?
If so, I'd love to hear all about it :)

Rimmel Apoclalip Lip Velvets

Hey lovelies!

Today I thought that I'd have a natter to you about the Rimmel Apocalip Lip Velvets which I first showed via this haul post but also via this YouTube video. I loved, and still love the originals so much so that at first I was a bit sceptical about picking up some of these newer formula ones to give a go, so let me tell you what I think.

Rimmel Apocalip Matte Lip Velvets (the swatches)          Left - Meteoric Matte
     Right - Burning Lava

Above - Showcasing the deeper shade of the two, Meteoric Matte
Below - Burning Lava

I think that these are nice. They have a very soft velvety finish on application and the pigmentation is incredible, so incredible that you really should use either a lip pencil for these, or you could just grab a little tincy tiny bit of the product using a lip brush, you cannot, I repeat, you cannot apply these straight from the applicator in a rush, and if you can - well you're just a bit cray! They definitely need a bit of time and patience, once you've got them on however, the staying power is amazing but you will find that they feel a bit odd, almost powdery, drying and perhaps a little flaky feeling although they don't actually look it, perhaps a little balm both before hand and afterwards could help with this, I just feel a bit unsure about these products to be completely honest with you, but I love the new matte packaging and I think that the shades are utterly gorgeous.

Have you tried these new matte formulas?
If so, what did you think of them??

Be sure to let me know down below if you have any requests for future posts

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets

So a couple of days ago I shared with you via this post, and my brand new Youtube channel, the small handful of products which I'd ordered from Boots online. Within the mix were two of the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets. I have one word for these. Amazing.

So gals and guys, lets get into it!

Left : Grand Cru, Right : Personne ne Rouge    (please excuse the disgusting looking hands, darn camera)!

As you can see in the photograph above, the darker shade of the two really didn't swatch very well, for a first impression it just seemed so so sheer and if I'm honest perhaps a little blotchy, I definitely held a lot more hope for the lighter/brighter of the two. Saying that though, just you wait until you see the lip swatches down below, they tell a completely different story!

Above I am showcasing the lighter shade of the two which I picked up, Personne ne Rouge (my personal favourite).
Below, in the shade Grand Cru.

Despite the hand swatches which I've shown above for these two lip products, these apply absolutely beautifully to the lips.  Although they appeared sheer, and the darker of the two seemed blotchy via swatches, they do not apply to the lips in that way at all..  well they do apply just a little sheer, but as a whole they show up as a lovely block of colour, which is fo' sure build-able - if that makes any sense?!

I actually like to take the applicator out of the packaging, scrape off any access back onto the nib of the tube and apply that way, I will normally repeat this around 3 times, each time with the colour appearing noticeably bolder and true to what you would think it to be, I have also found that this helps in a way of 'sealing the deal' each thin layer securing the layer below.

If you were to watch someone apply one of these to their lips you'd think that it looks like any old normal liquid gloss, but its what you actually feel which makes this product so different, so unique, so..yes I'm saying it, great. I am not even lying when I say this, but it actually feels like you're coating your lips with a layer of some sort of liquid - gloss - velvet hybrid goodness, it just feels amazing on the lips, but keep in mind that it does soon dry out to a matte formula (as you can see in the images above) it is slightly drying, but its nothing that a small coating of balm can't handle. I also find the staying power to be impeccable.

I would definitely recommend these to anyone who may be after a matte formula liquid lipstick, I think that they are great, and for a retail price of £8.99 you can't possibly go wrong, I will definitely be purchasing a few more shades - eeeekkkk!

If you have any more questions about these products or perhaps a request for a future post, please do let me know in the comments down below.

Eyes and Lips of the Day #2

Hey Lovelies!

Today I thought that I'd really like to share with you a look that I've been absolutely loving over the past week or so, and within this little mix I really think that I may have found a couple of star products so, lets get right into it.

Side note - In the future, I really should remember to clean my products before photograph time, hope you don't mind dirtiness to much...

For this little round up, I thought that it'd only be right to start off with step number one of this little routine, eye primer. Although I didn't purchase this Bare Minerals Brightening Primer myself (it came as part of a gift set last Christmas, which I'd received from my dad), I really am glad to have this little number in my collection. This is definitely one of those 'it really does what it says on the tin' products. As you can see in the photograph above, it has a beautiful sheen of golden luminosity to it, which does nothing short of brightening up the entire eye area. This product is of full size and retails at £16.00

(You only need around half of the amount which I've shown above, a tube will last you an incredibly long time).

Next up is the most exciting part of course, the shadows! This is one of Charlotte Tilburys Luxury Palettes in the shade, The Dolce Vita, this little eye palette retails at a price of £38 and is definitely one of the more high quality 'up there' products of my collection.
Word of warning, these shades are amazingly pigmented.

- I used the lighter shade across the entire lid in way of priming the rest of the shadows just that little bit further.

- I then picked up some of the red toned shade on a flat shadow brush and placed that over top of the first lid shade but concentrating much more on the outer corners.

- Next was the golden shade which I placed into the inner corners, just to add some extra brightness and overall jazzle.

- Lastly I took a wash of that much darker chocolate brown shade through the crease to ensure some extra dimension to the eye.

To begin with I didn't feel much love for the Maybelline Colossal Go Extreme Mascara in Leather Black, which retails at £6.99, I can't quite put my finger on it, but over the past week or so, I have been enjoying it a lot, perhaps the formula was a little too wet for me before, or maybe I needed time to get used to the size of the wand, what ever the reason, I'm really enjoying the result which it has on my lashes whenever I use it in my morning make-up routine.

Now, this was very silly of me, I took a close up photo of the swatch of the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in the shade Nova which retails at £5.99 from Superdrug, with a very blurry looking packaging in the background, without taking a close up image of the packaging, for that I am truly sorry, I'm such a numpty!

If you click here though, you'll be able to see a full review which I'd already posted a while back :)

Here's the finished look.

You can definitely use this palette and lip colour for a more day time appropriate look, by using a bit less of each shade of eye shadow or using just a couple of the shades instead of all four and blotting the lip lacquer down with a piece of tissue, but you could also make it a lot more intense.

I hope that you enjoyed this post.
If you would like at all any reviews on any of the products shown;
please do let me know.

|First Video |OOTD

I have been watching Youtube beauty videos for possibly around the past 4-5 years now, so this morning as I was home alone, I decided to go out there, and film one of my own.

This is just a quick introduction to me and my channel really;
(with a quick and simple OOTD chucked in for good measure, of course!)

I hope that you enjoy.

What's in my Handbag

Hey guys and gals, I hope that you're all doing well?!

I've always loved nosey-ing through these sorts of posts, I don't really know what it is that's so comforting about looking through someone else's bag, but I really do love it so much so, that I thought that today would be a perfect day to let you guys have a peak through mine;

I hope that you enjoy!

So firstly I guess I'd better tell you what little I know about the bag itself. Its made by the brand GiGi and its real leather...wow, that really is all I know, hhaa...this is awkward, I can't even remember exactly how much it was, as it was a gift from my mum early last year, which she kindly bought for me as a 21st birthday gift, when we both went shopping together. Whats more, is that I'm not even sure of which shops they sell this brand of handbag in, we just found it sitting in the window of a little independent (I think) handbag boutique store, I have however managed to find a pretty close match to it online here, if you are at all interested :)

Now starting from left to right, row by row, i'll go though the goodies which can be found in my bag.

Make-up Bag
I have so much love for this little make-up bag, not because I think that its particularly glam, but because its ridiculously cute (well I think so anyway). Its by the brand Dickens and Jones, they sell all sorts of goodies, from women's clothing to home-ware all the way through to luggage and accessories. Unfortunately they don't actually sell this exact one any more, I purchased it right at the beginning of this year in the sale, but I'm sure that they'll have a few other designs over there if you were to have a look.
If you'd like to see a post on what I tend to take with me in my out and about make-up bag, please don't hesitate to ask in the comments down below.

Sunglasses
These sunnies are just some cheap one's which I bought from Newlook at the beginning of the summer, at £3.99 they were such a bargain, and it definitely showed me that if you look hard enough, you don't always have to spend a huge amount to bag yourself a decent pair of sunglasses, I've pretty much lived in these!

Purse
Now, as you can probably tell from the image above, this purse is a pretty old one, it was yet another gift around 2 years ago, maybe more..and for that reason once again, I can't find it online...not doing very well here are we?! :( But I do however have a link, which will take you to the shop which it was purchased from, they have both handbags and purses to eyeball though!

Fragrance
Mmmm. This Molecule 01 fragrance by Escentric Molecules is just incredible, I ordered the 30ml travel size, which actually comes with a very sturdy yet stylish case, which makes it sooo easy to just chuck into your bag whenever you're on the go, and as the fragrance doesn't come with a lid, I'd definitely recommend using it. After a minute or two of spritzing it onto your skin, you wont be able to smell it on yourself at all, yet others around you will. I believe that this one really works along with your natural scent, so it really could be a hit or miss... but all I've gotten from wearing it so far are amazing compliments from people asking which fragrance I'm wearing. It's just such a strange thing, not being able to smell it yourself but instead relying on others to tell you that you do in fact smell half decent ahaa!

Vaseline
This is the Vaseline Limited Edition No3 Paint the Town Red Lip Tint. Whoah, need a breather now.. that is such a long name! I love this stuff. If you'd like to see a full review which I posted a while back now, please do click here :)

Tangle Teezer
Since owning one of these little jems, I havent once gone back to using a regular hairbrush, they just get the tangles out of your hair sooo effortlessly, and I've seen a lot less damage to my hair as a result - which without mentioning anything else is fantastic in itself!

Lady Hygiene
I don't really need to explain the tampons, do I? *Awkward pause...*

...Anyway moving on..

I actually got the little tin free with a pack of Always Sanitary Towels, it a perfect fit too if you'd like to take a pad out and about with you during that wonderful time of the month.

Flexitol
Ahhh, Flexitol. This stuff has saved my fingers on so many occasions, that its not even funny any more! If you're prone to split nails, flakey cuticles or even slight discolouration I've noticed, honestly give this stuff a shot, it normally gets my nails looking noticeably healthier and physically stronger within I'd say 2 days, used twice or three times daily. If you'd like to see a full review with photographs, please be sure to let me know!

So that's it, the contents of my handbag.
I hope that you enjoyed having a nosey through :)

The Top Ten Product Tag

Hey lovelies;

I hope that you're all doing well?!

I would like to do a big shout out to the amazing Jordan, who very kindly tagged me to do this post, if you are yet to check her space out, go do it now.. well after you've had a good looksie through my top ten products of the moment anyway :) hehe...

Side note, I forgot to include the mascara into the photo above, I hope you don't mind :(

Lets get right into it.
I hope that you enjoy;

- Foundation

If you've been following me for a while, you'll know just how much I love the Vichy Dermablend Corrective Fluid Foundation. I have oily skin, and this seems to be the only stuff which will stay on all day with out the dreaded slipping around motion that other foundations seem to enjoy doing so much on my skin, I don't even have use a primer with it - result! Although I have oily skin, I don't like that matte look, so this stuff is perfect, as well as staying in tact all day, it also gives your skin such a lovely healthy glow. you can also build the coverage up pretty dang high, or you can keep it light for a 'I want my natural skin to shine through today' look.

-Concealer

Because of the above foundation being so great coverage wise, I find myself very rarely needing a high coverage concealer on top, so most mornings I will find myself reaching for the Soap and Glory Trick and Treatment Dark Circle Concealer. I wouldn't say for you to get this concealer for the purpose of covering dark circles, but more so for brightening the under eye area, I think that it does a brilliant job of this, so much so that I will normally also dab a bit onto the inner corners of my eyes, the bridge of my nose and my chin.

- Setting Powder

Now, I haven't owned this Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder for too long, but I love it! I know it probably looks a bit daunting due to its white colouring, but no matter what you're skin tone, this powder will just mimck the shade of your foundation. Its so finely milled that it will never leave your skin looking cakey, or heavy, but instead natural - I can never really tell that I have this stuff over top of my foundation, it just feels so light, leaving the skin feeling soft, and definitely lengthens the amount of time which your foundation will last.

-Bronze and Highlight

I wont say too much about the Urban Decay Flushed Palette, as I have done a full review which you can view here, where I included quite a bit more information. You can see that I've started to hit pan in the top left hand corner, and let me tell you, it was such a sad moment when I realised! I love this bronze and highlight a lot, I just feel as though it leaves my skin looking so fresh and glow-y.

- Blush

As much as I love the blush from the above Flushed Palette, now that its getting a bit cooler and darker outside, I seem to have taken a step back from it, and instead, re-kindled the love for my MAC Powder Blush in the shade Melba. You want to be so, so, so, light handed with these blushes, you'd be surprised at just how pigmented they are, I'd say that I've owned this shade around 3 years now, and I'm still yet to hit pan. It gives a matte finish, but is definitely a shade that I feel gives you that natural I've been outside loving life sorta', well.. flush.

- Brows

I've owned this Sleek Brow Kit in the shade Light, for I'd say a good few months now, and I think you can see just how well loved it is..to be honest I think it needs a clean very soon haha. I have very sparse, very blonde, hardly there, need a magnifying glass to see kinda brows, and this stuff works great, I just need to get myself a clear mascara or something to make it last a little longer, as half way through the day I always notice one or two small bare patches where it has escaped, any recommendations would be great - just saying :D

- Shadow

You don't need to tell me, I know that I'm cheating on this category with four shadows *slaps wrists*, but look at how beautiful these MAC Shadows are, how could I possibly leave any out?! The shades from left to right are Woodwinked, Sumptuous Olive, Charcoal Brown and Twinks - These colours are perfect for the Autumn/Winter months. Ahhhhhhh. Can you tell that I love them? I will normally use one of those shimmer shades on the lid, with a tiny bit of that matte Charcoal brown in the crease/outer corner. It goes amazing with each one of them.

- Mascara

This False Lash Telescopic Mascara is great for day-to-day use, it gives amazing definition, volume, and length, the works! I also find that the wand makes it very easy to apply onto the lashes, I never get those dreaded massive globs of product either on my lid nor under my bottom lashes when I use this, comon' we all know the sort that I'm chatting about!

-Lipstick

If you're a regular to these parts, then I think you probably knew what my choice of lipstick would be before you even saw this far down the page, MAC Vegas Volt. This stuff is just incredible, to the point where I have spoken about it countless times on this space, both here and here. Its so creamy, and soft, always leaving the lips looking smooth and just plain delicious!

Eyes - MACS Woodwinked and Charcoal Brown shadows   Lips - MACS Vegas Volt

I hope you enjoyed having a peak into the Top Ten Products of my stash!

I'm not going to tag anyone in particular for this, however if you do decide to take part, please feel free to let me know in the comments, and I will be sure to check it out :)
