Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets

So a couple of days ago I shared with you via this post, and my brand new Youtube channel, the small handful of products which I'd ordered from Boots online. Within the mix were two of the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets. I have one word for these. Amazing.

So gals and guys, lets get into it!

Left : Grand Cru, Right : Personne ne Rouge    (please excuse the disgusting looking hands, darn camera)!

As you can see in the photograph above, the darker shade of the two really didn't swatch very well, for a first impression it just seemed so so sheer and if I'm honest perhaps a little blotchy, I definitely held a lot more hope for the lighter/brighter of the two. Saying that though, just you wait until you see the lip swatches down below, they tell a completely different story!

Above I am showcasing the lighter shade of the two which I picked up, Personne ne Rouge (my personal favourite).
Below, in the shade Grand Cru.

Despite the hand swatches which I've shown above for these two lip products, these apply absolutely beautifully to the lips.  Although they appeared sheer, and the darker of the two seemed blotchy via swatches, they do not apply to the lips in that way at all..  well they do apply just a little sheer, but as a whole they show up as a lovely block of colour, which is fo' sure build-able - if that makes any sense?!

I actually like to take the applicator out of the packaging, scrape off any access back onto the nib of the tube and apply that way, I will normally repeat this around 3 times, each time with the colour appearing noticeably bolder and true to what you would think it to be, I have also found that this helps in a way of 'sealing the deal' each thin layer securing the layer below.

If you were to watch someone apply one of these to their lips you'd think that it looks like any old normal liquid gloss, but its what you actually feel which makes this product so different, so unique, so..yes I'm saying it, great. I am not even lying when I say this, but it actually feels like you're coating your lips with a layer of some sort of liquid - gloss - velvet hybrid goodness, it just feels amazing on the lips, but keep in mind that it does soon dry out to a matte formula (as you can see in the images above) it is slightly drying, but its nothing that a small coating of balm can't handle. I also find the staying power to be impeccable.

I would definitely recommend these to anyone who may be after a matte formula liquid lipstick, I think that they are great, and for a retail price of £8.99 you can't possibly go wrong, I will definitely be purchasing a few more shades - eeeekkkk!

If you have any more questions about these products or perhaps a request for a future post, please do let me know in the comments down below.

Eyes and Lips of the Day #2

Hey Lovelies!

Today I thought that I'd really like to share with you a look that I've been absolutely loving over the past week or so, and within this little mix I really think that I may have found a couple of star products so, lets get right into it.

Side note - In the future, I really should remember to clean my products before photograph time, hope you don't mind dirtiness to much...

For this little round up, I thought that it'd only be right to start off with step number one of this little routine, eye primer. Although I didn't purchase this Bare Minerals Brightening Primer myself (it came as part of a gift set last Christmas, which I'd received from my dad), I really am glad to have this little number in my collection. This is definitely one of those 'it really does what it says on the tin' products. As you can see in the photograph above, it has a beautiful sheen of golden luminosity to it, which does nothing short of brightening up the entire eye area. This product is of full size and retails at £16.00

(You only need around half of the amount which I've shown above, a tube will last you an incredibly long time).

Next up is the most exciting part of course, the shadows! This is one of Charlotte Tilburys Luxury Palettes in the shade, The Dolce Vita, this little eye palette retails at a price of £38 and is definitely one of the more high quality 'up there' products of my collection.
Word of warning, these shades are amazingly pigmented.

- I used the lighter shade across the entire lid in way of priming the rest of the shadows just that little bit further.

- I then picked up some of the red toned shade on a flat shadow brush and placed that over top of the first lid shade but concentrating much more on the outer corners.

- Next was the golden shade which I placed into the inner corners, just to add some extra brightness and overall jazzle.

- Lastly I took a wash of that much darker chocolate brown shade through the crease to ensure some extra dimension to the eye.

To begin with I didn't feel much love for the Maybelline Colossal Go Extreme Mascara in Leather Black, which retails at £6.99, I can't quite put my finger on it, but over the past week or so, I have been enjoying it a lot, perhaps the formula was a little too wet for me before, or maybe I needed time to get used to the size of the wand, what ever the reason, I'm really enjoying the result which it has on my lashes whenever I use it in my morning make-up routine.

Now, this was very silly of me, I took a close up photo of the swatch of the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in the shade Nova which retails at £5.99 from Superdrug, with a very blurry looking packaging in the background, without taking a close up image of the packaging, for that I am truly sorry, I'm such a numpty!

If you click here though, you'll be able to see a full review which I'd already posted a while back :)

Here's the finished look.

You can definitely use this palette and lip colour for a more day time appropriate look, by using a bit less of each shade of eye shadow or using just a couple of the shades instead of all four and blotting the lip lacquer down with a piece of tissue, but you could also make it a lot more intense.

I hope that you enjoyed this post.
If you would like at all any reviews on any of the products shown;
please do let me know.

The Top Ten Product Tag

Hey lovelies;

I hope that you're all doing well?!

I would like to do a big shout out to the amazing Jordan, who very kindly tagged me to do this post, if you are yet to check her space out, go do it now.. well after you've had a good looksie through my top ten products of the moment anyway :) hehe...

Side note, I forgot to include the mascara into the photo above, I hope you don't mind :(

Lets get right into it.
I hope that you enjoy;

- Foundation

If you've been following me for a while, you'll know just how much I love the Vichy Dermablend Corrective Fluid Foundation. I have oily skin, and this seems to be the only stuff which will stay on all day with out the dreaded slipping around motion that other foundations seem to enjoy doing so much on my skin, I don't even have use a primer with it - result! Although I have oily skin, I don't like that matte look, so this stuff is perfect, as well as staying in tact all day, it also gives your skin such a lovely healthy glow. you can also build the coverage up pretty dang high, or you can keep it light for a 'I want my natural skin to shine through today' look.

-Concealer

Because of the above foundation being so great coverage wise, I find myself very rarely needing a high coverage concealer on top, so most mornings I will find myself reaching for the Soap and Glory Trick and Treatment Dark Circle Concealer. I wouldn't say for you to get this concealer for the purpose of covering dark circles, but more so for brightening the under eye area, I think that it does a brilliant job of this, so much so that I will normally also dab a bit onto the inner corners of my eyes, the bridge of my nose and my chin.

- Setting Powder

 Now, I haven't owned this Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder for too long, but I love it! I know it probably looks a bit daunting due to its white colouring, but no matter what you're skin tone, this powder will just mimck the shade of your foundation. Its so finely milled that it will never leave your skin looking cakey, or heavy, but instead natural - I can never really tell that I have this stuff over top of my foundation, it just feels so light, leaving the skin feeling soft, and definitely lengthens the amount of time which your foundation will last.

-Bronze and Highlight

I wont say too much about the Urban Decay Flushed Palette, as I have done a full review which you can view here, where I included quite a bit more information. You can see that I've started to hit pan in the top left hand corner, and let me tell you, it was such a sad moment when I realised! I love this bronze and highlight a lot, I just feel as though it leaves my skin looking so fresh and glow-y.

- Blush

As much as I love the blush from the above Flushed Palette, now that its getting a bit cooler and darker outside, I seem to have taken a step back from it, and instead, re-kindled the love for my MAC Powder Blush in the shade Melba. You want to be so, so, so, light handed with these blushes, you'd be surprised at just how pigmented they are, I'd say that I've owned this shade around 3 years now, and I'm still yet to hit pan. It gives a matte finish, but is definitely a shade that I feel gives you that natural I've been outside loving life sorta', well.. flush.

- Brows

I've owned this Sleek Brow Kit in the shade Light, for I'd say a good few months now, and I think you can see just how well loved it is..to be honest I think it needs a clean very soon haha. I have very sparse, very blonde, hardly there, need a magnifying glass to see kinda brows, and this stuff works great, I just need to get myself a clear mascara or something to make it last a little longer, as half way through the day I always notice one or two small bare patches where it has escaped, any recommendations would be great - just saying :D

- Shadow

You don't need to tell me, I know that I'm cheating on this category with four shadows *slaps wrists*, but look at how beautiful these MAC Shadows are, how could I possibly leave any out?! The shades from left to right are Woodwinked, Sumptuous Olive, Charcoal Brown and Twinks - These colours are perfect for the Autumn/Winter months. Ahhhhhhh. Can you tell that I love them? I will normally use one of those shimmer shades on the lid, with a tiny bit of that matte Charcoal brown in the crease/outer corner. It goes amazing with each one of them.

- Mascara

This False Lash Telescopic Mascara is great for day-to-day use, it gives amazing definition, volume, and length, the works! I also find that the wand makes it very easy to apply onto the lashes, I never get those dreaded massive globs of product either on my lid nor under my bottom lashes when I use this, comon' we all know the sort that I'm chatting about!

-Lipstick

If you're a regular to these parts, then I think you probably knew what my choice of lipstick would be before you even saw this far down the page, MAC Vegas Volt. This stuff is just incredible, to the point where I have spoken about it countless times on this space, both here and here. Its so creamy, and soft, always leaving the lips looking smooth and just plain delicious!

Eyes - MACS Woodwinked and Charcoal Brown shadows   Lips - MACS Vegas Volt

I hope you enjoyed having a peak into the Top Ten Products of my stash!

I'm not going to tag anyone in particular for this, however if you do decide to take part, please feel free to let me know in the comments, and I will be sure to check it out :)

New Favourite for the Eyes?!

Hey lovelies;

So, a week or two ago now, I went on a little shopping trip with a friend, surprisingly I ended up walking away from the counters in Boots empty handed. Laura however bought a couple of lovely bits from the Estee Lauder stand, where she was then given the choice of a free lipstick or mascara, she chose mascara, and to my delight, she handed the little wrapped up package of goodness to me, as she already had a sample of this in her make-up stash (yes she is an Estee Lauder junkie)!

As I say, I've had a nice amount of time to try out the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara, it's believe it or not the very first high end mascara that I've ever had the pleasure of trying, I'm well and truly in love. It gives the lashes so much length, with I'd say a fair bit of volume. In the photos above I am wearing three thin layerings, I think it looks lovely, it keeps the lashes nice and separated, as you can see, I have not even a tiny hint of clump, and best of all, it stays put all day long, even running around work during this busy recent period, feeling all sweaty (lovely I know) I've managed to go home at the end of each day without the effect of the very dreaded panda eyes,

This mascara has such a big thumbs up from me, and I will definitely be purchasing the full size when it runs runs out, you can purchase it here.

Have you tried this mascara? If so, what do/did you think?

Also feel free to leave any post suggestions in the comments below, and I will be sure to crack on with them!

Favourite Handbag Lipsticks

Today, I thought that I'd talk to you about the three lipsticks which you'll find inside my handbag at all times, I'm absolutely obsessed with these beauties!

From left to right, Rimmel London Apocalips in Nova, Mac Lipstick in Vegas Volt, Rimmel London Apocalips in Luna

Rimmel Apocalips in Luna
Rimmel Apocalips in Nova
I've owned these two shades of Rimmel London Apocalips, both Luna and Nova, for I'd say around 6-7 months now, but its only during the past two months, where I've been wearing them more and more, all the way through to the point where they now, both make very regular appearances into my handbag. In the images I'm wearing them full on, but bear in mind you can definitely sheer them out to make them more everyday appropriate for your preference. These are soft, creamy, and I do find them to be very long lasting. They retail for £6.49 a piece.

Now, I have shown this lippie in a post, or two before this one, which you can see both here and here. I just couldn't leave MACS Vegas Volt, which retails at a price of £15.50, out of Favourite Handbag Lipsticks. Just look at how gorgeous that shade is. This is the very first MAC Lipstick that I ever purchased around 4-5 years back, and I just know that it will continue to be a favourite for years to come. This is one of MACS amplified lippies, which means that it has such a silky, soft, creamy formula, which leaves the lips feeling so amazingly smooth and beautifully moisturised, making the lips look healthy and.. well enough of the blabbering it is just an overall lovely lipstick, which I know would look great on all skin tones, out of the three, I know that this is definitely my most reached. Seriously, if you havent tried it, do it now, go on, do it! I know you want to :D

I hope that you enjoyed this post guys, I'd love to hear what your favourite handbag lipsticks are in the comments below, I'm always looking to try new one's out :)

Ohh, and if you have any suggestions for future posts, please feel free to let me know!
