Hey Lovelies!
Today I thought that I'd really like to share with you a look that I've been absolutely loving over the past week or so, and within this little mix I really think that I may have found a couple of star products so, lets get right into it.
Side note - In the future, I really should remember to clean my products before photograph time, hope you don't mind dirtiness to much...
For this little round up, I thought that it'd only be right to start off with step number one of this little routine, eye primer. Although I didn't purchase this Bare Minerals Brightening Primer myself (it came as part of a gift set last Christmas, which I'd received from my dad), I really am glad to have this little number in my collection. This is definitely one of those 'it really does what it says on the tin' products. As you can see in the photograph above, it has a beautiful sheen of golden luminosity to it, which does nothing short of brightening up the entire eye area. This product is of full size and retails at £16.00
(You only need around half of the amount which I've shown above, a tube will last you an incredibly long time).
Next up is the most exciting part of course, the shadows! This is one of Charlotte Tilburys Luxury Palettes in the shade, The Dolce Vita, this little eye palette retails at a price of £38 and is definitely one of the more high quality 'up there' products of my collection.
Word of warning, these shades are amazingly pigmented.
- I used the lighter shade across the entire lid in way of priming the rest of the shadows just that little bit further.
- I then picked up some of the red toned shade on a flat shadow brush and placed that over top of the first lid shade but concentrating much more on the outer corners.
- Next was the golden shade which I placed into the inner corners, just to add some extra brightness and overall jazzle.
- Lastly I took a wash of that much darker chocolate brown shade through the crease to ensure some extra dimension to the eye.
To begin with I didn't feel much love for the Maybelline Colossal Go Extreme Mascara in Leather Black, which retails at £6.99, I can't quite put my finger on it, but over the past week or so, I have been enjoying it a lot, perhaps the formula was a little too wet for me before, or maybe I needed time to get used to the size of the wand, what ever the reason, I'm really enjoying the result which it has on my lashes whenever I use it in my morning make-up routine.
Now, this was very silly of me, I took a close up photo of the swatch of the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in the shade Nova which retails at £5.99 from Superdrug, with a very blurry looking packaging in the background, without taking a close up image of the packaging, for that I am truly sorry, I'm such a numpty!
If you click here though, you'll be able to see a full review which I'd already posted a while back :)
Here's the finished look.
You can definitely use this palette and lip colour for a more day time appropriate look, by using a bit less of each shade of eye shadow or using just a couple of the shades instead of all four and blotting the lip lacquer down with a piece of tissue, but you could also make it a lot more intense.
I hope that you enjoyed this post.
