The Orange Lip

Recently I've come to realise that I have quite the obsession, for wearing an orange lip with a neutral eye. Today I thought that it would be nice to share just a few of my favourites with you all.

No messing about today guys, lets jump straight in with my first pick, bearing in mind that these are in no particular order to preference.

This is one of the Revlon Color Burst Matte Balms in the shade 235 Mischievous, a gorgeous shade, a bit lighter in tone and definitely much more everyday appropriate than some of the others which I'm going to be showing today. These retail at £7.99 so not too pricey for a drug store brand. I do suggest applying this to the lips after having already applied a lip balm, as they do tend to apply a little patchy even though they feel very moisturising on the lips for a Matte product.

This next one is again one of the Revlon Color Burst Matte Balms, but this time its in the shade 245 Audacious, just by looking at the colour in the tube, I don't think it would appear too different from the previous Matte Balm that I showcased, however swatched on the lips it definitely comes out quite a bit bolder, but brighter.

Now this next little number from my orange lippy list, is one of the Revlon Color Burst Lipsticks in the shade Peach. This is one which used to get me very excited, its an old favourite which I used to wear almost everyday, its one which I've recently rediscovered in my collection, and I'm so pleased that I have. Although its still an orangey/peachy shade, I feel like its also a little more brown toned than the rest...

I've just realised whilst trying to find a link for you, that they don't make the Color Burst Lipsticks any more :( I'm sorry for those of you who never got a chance to try, but if anyone out there has an old one of these lying around in they're stash, you should definitely dig it out, and pop it onto your lips!

Don't be worrying though gaaals, this next one is definitely a lippy which is still shown on many shop shelves! It is Rimmel Londons Apocalips Lip Lacquer in 500 Luna, how lovely is this shade? I mean comon guys! Its so moisturising, and acts almost like a stain after a while, I've found that no matter how long I leave this one on the lips, you can still feel that moisture seeking through. This retails at a mere £6.49.

This last one is my favourite! Its MAC's Lipstick in A33 Vegas Volt which comes in at £15.50, although its the most expensive (I only own a handful of these myself) you can definitely see and feel that quality, from the second that you look at that clean, sleek packaging, to when you look at how shiny, soft almost the product looks in the bullet, to when you apply it onto your lips, oh my, its an Amplified formula, and there is nothing I can fault about this lippy, it so so smooth, creamy, moisturising, somewhat long wearing, pigmented, you can wear it sheerer by applying a little and just smoothing it out with your finger, or you can really go all out and build that colour up, which does so beautifully. Honestly....I could go on forever!

I hope that you enjoyed this post, just a little run down of my personal favourite orange lip products;
What's your favourite orange lip??
Any you can recommend?  I'd love to hear.

Also if you have any requests for future posts, I'd more than happily take those into consideration :D

Urban Decay Flushed Palette

Hey Dolls,

I had heard so many great things about the Urban Decay Flushed Palettes, that I just had to jump onto the "band wagon" and purchase one for myself! I've been using it for a little while now, so its the perfect time to let you all know my own opinion on it.

I ordered mine in the shade Streak. I'm just going to go straight out there by saying, look at that sleek, upmarket, gorgeous packaging!! This has fast become my bronze, highlight and blush of choice. The shades are so smooth, creamy, velvety almost, and blend out absolutely seamlessly, a little definitely goes a very long way, the blush shade especially, is so easy to go overboard on without meaning to, I've found that I only need to lightly tap my brush onto the shades to get that amazing colour pay off, which we all expect with higher quality cosmetics. I also love how the palette locks shut with a magnetic strip along the front, which you cant see at all. I can already be certain that if I happen to find myself going away for a period of time, or stay over night at a friends house, this will definitely be going into that make-up bag of mine.

Have you tried one of the Urban Decay Flushed Palettes? If so what did you think?

Eyes and Lips #1

Recently I have been absolutely loving wearing this make-up look, so what better thing to do at a time like this, than to share it with you guys?!
Just a little side note here, please do excuse the filthy packaging!

 1. So the very first step to this is to prime the lids in some way, I just applied a tiny bit of my Vichy Dermablend Corrective Foundation, this does a wonderful job of neutralising any redness or discolouration of the lids, I also find that any eye-shadow sticks beautifully to it, ensuring that the look lasts all day long.

2. I then take an old flat eye shadow-brush which I normally have lying around in my stash, to apply the first pale gold/champagne-y shade of my Estee Lauder Duo in 'Raisins' over the entire lid.

3.The next step is to take a blending brush, to apply the next colour, which is a sort of gorgeous burgundy, with a little mix of purple-y pink shade, I like to take this little by little, to build the colour up to the intensity that I like without any risk of going too over board. I also applied a bit of this shade to my lower lash line, which just makes this whole look appear so much more polished, which you'll definitely see at the end.
You can always intensify the look further by adding a little extra touch of matte black to the outer corners, ensuring that its blended well with no harsh edges.

4. Next I applied the shade Foxy, which is the first colour in the Naked 2 Palette, this is a lovely pale yellowy skin toned shadow, just below my brow bone, I find that by doing this, you can make the over all eye area look a lot cleaner and brighter. Its amazing what a difference this simple step makes.

5. Now to make my eyes look both, more wide awake and bolder, by adding a bit of my Loreal Super Liner Perfect Slim in Intense Black, just on my upper lash line, I do like to ensure that there's a little flick at the outer corners, but I find it sooo hard to get both eyes to turn out the same, does anyone else have this problem??!

6. This is by far my favourite step of any make-up look... the lippy of course! Its the Rimmel Apocalips in the shade Luna, (I think I may have a slight obsession with orange lips at the moment, you just cant beat them).

So here's the finished look;

PS, I know that my pupils look quite large and honestly a little cray, I'm Type 1 Diabetic and had an annual eye screening appointment to go to this morning, I got home and honestly it seemed that it was taking hours for my pupils to get back to normal, I just couldn't wait, I really wanted to get another post up for you guys, I hope you don't mind and also that you enjoyed this little read:)
